24/7 drinking water supply - Old Town WaterKiosk®

At the heart of Mombasa old town, at the middle of heavily dense neighborhood, and just a short distance from historic Mombasa old-port, WaterKiosk is offering to locals up to 20,000 liter of hygiene drinking water per day. The raw water source is coming from a shallow borehole, badly contaminated with seawater and toilet seepages.

The high population around the system, required the project to deliver water 24/7. To achieve that, 3 automated Water ATMs, running on mobile money and tokens, provide water upon request any time. 10kw of solar array is powering the entire system and its operation.
