Potable water in arid region - Wajir 4 WaterKiosk®
Wajir four Water Kiosk is located at the heart of Wajir town. Residents in this region depend on shallow wells for their domestic use that have a high probability of contamination and may cause water-borne diseases like Cholera. This has made the demand for fresh hygiene water rise day in day out in that region. WaterKiosk installed a plant in Wajir town that serves more than 350 homesteads in a single day.
This development came as a blessing to the struggling residents who had to survive on the water that was saline and full of impurities. The desalination machine can produce up to 20,000 liters in a single day, powered by a 9.3kW solar array. The location of the desalination is strategic targeting business people and homestead around that town.
